addressing community health concerns

Mar 12, 2020

The health and safety of our community is always our top priority. With recent ongoing events surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we have taken extra precautionary steps to ensure the safest and cleanest environment possible in each Zenergy location.

Please stay up to date with any and all ongoing developments as we keep this blog post up to date.

SATURDAY MAY 16TH – UPDATE

Our Charleston and Morgantown locations will partially re-open on Monday, May 25th.

Over the past few months we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that when it was time, we could welcome you back in the safest and best manner possible. We’re excited to announce that we will return to limited operations starting in our West Virginia market (Charleston and Morgantown Studios) on Monday, May 25th. While many things will look and run differently, we still promise to give you the same Zenergy experience you know and love.

Class schedules, bookings, etc will go live on Sunday, May 24th at 5 PM. If you would like to re-activate your membership and or class package on Sunday, May 24th, please email community@zenergycycling.com (you will not be able to book without re-activating your class package).

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back and can’t wait to dance on a bike with you (safely) soon!

WV GUIDELINES AND MUST DO’s

In addition to our new policies and procedures (see below) please follow the below WV Guidelines per the state.

  • Wear appropriate PPP at all times, including appropriate facial coverings, to the greatest extent possible.
  • Follow all posted placards and signage
  • Do not come to the studio if you have experienced any of the following (been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days, are experiencing coughs, shortness of breath, or sore throat, have had a fever in the last 48 hours, lost sense of taste and or smell within the last 24 hours)

In addition to the above guidelines, we will continue to clean and disinfect our studios to the greatest extent possible. You will find a new sanitizing towel on your bike prior to arrival for each class. Please use this towel to wipe down your equipment as an extra precaution.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back in the studio, again, please stay safe and only come if you are not experiencing any of the signs above.

SATURDAY MAY 9TH – UPDATE

To our Community,

As we gear up for the start of the re-opening of our studio’s we wanted to give an update on our continued promise to you. Our Zenergy Team has always been dedicated to the health and safety of each person that walks into our doors, but now we’re taking it a step further. Please read below on some changes that will take place as we open our doors to welcome you back. It is important to note that this is only the start and we will be adding to and editing our plan where mandated by local authorities.

– Memberships / Packages: The health and safety of our team and members is our top priority. While we promise to do everything we can to ensure the safest and cleanest environment possible, we understand that there will be many that aren’t ready to venture back yet. With this, we will only re-activate packages and memberships upon request while allowing those that don’t reactivate at the start to have up to a 30-day grace period after the re-opening of their studio.

To reactivate your package when your studio re-opens, please message community@zenergycycling.com

– Class Start Times: We will be configuring our schedules to allow at least 30-mins between each class. This will allow our teams to continue to use top-grade disinfectants that have the ability to kill viruses and germs throughout our studios to ensure we cover all high-touch surfaces. Please note: you will not be permitted to check-in/enter the doors until 15 mins prior to the start of class time.

Our team will work to get riders/members in and out of studios while maintaining social distancing practices. Please follow all floor markers and signage and remain to the right when entering and exiting our spaces. In addition, we request that if you can, wait outside or in your car if the weather permits.

– Staff Hospitality: We have put a protocol in place that limits our team from leaving the front desk, aside from any cleaning. So that we can limit contact, please follow our bike setup HERE. Should you need further assistance with bike setup, our instructors will demonstrate prior to each class on the podium.

– Gloves and Facemasks: Our staff will be required to wear provided facemasks and highly-encouraged to wear provided gloves throughout their shift. Our instructors will remove their face mask as they start each of their classes. (Don’t worry, we’ll still have a smile waiting for you behind our masks.)

– Staggered Spots: We will be rearranging our rooms so there is adequate space between each person. This includes removing the ability to book the bike/spot directly in front of the instructor and in certain studios limiting the capacity of spots available per CDC guidelines.

– Hands-Free Check-In: We have created the ability to check-in via the iOS Zenergy app up to 15 mins prior to the class. Please note: you will have to be within a 25-foot radius of our front desk for this feature to be work. Should you wish to check in with our front desk team you can do so by providing your name as you enter. Once our class is ready to begin our team will do a headcount to ensure everyone has been checked in accordingly.

– Shoes – Our shoes will now be on shelving in front of our front desks. Should you need to borrow shoes for your ride please check the shoe cheat sheet and grab the shoes that correspond with your size. After class, you will return the shoes to the usual bin, and we will disinfect with hospital-grade disinfectant for the next person.

– Water – We’ll still have water available to purchase should you forget to bring a reusable bottle. We will hold these behind the front desk and hand them to you should you need to purchase one. This will eliminate contact high-level contact from our refrigerators.

– Lockers and Cubbies: For the foreseeable future, we request you to leave all valuable items at home and or in your car. We will temporarily be removing access to all lockers and or cubbies. (Don’t worry, we’ll have a place for your keys!)

– Showers / Washrooms: For the foreseeable future, we will temporarily be removing access to all of our showers. Our washrooms and toilets will still be available for use.

– Cancelations: To allow as many people as possible to attend our classes, we will be strictly enforcing our 12-hour cancelation policy. Please remember to cancel at least 12 hours prior to the start of class.

– Late Entry – To keep with safe social distance guidelines and practices, once the studio door has shut, there will be absolutely NO late entry to a class.

– Waitlist – Don’t be afraid to join! We are using the waitlist to determine what class start times work best for our community while we adapt to a new schedule. Should you be waitlisted for a class and wish to show up and wait, we request that you remain outside and let us know you have arrived by calling. Should a spot open up we will call you to enter the studio.

– Booking Window: To allow for adaptation for any changes that may need to be enforced, we have changed our booking window to be every Sunday at 5 PM for the upcoming week. On Sundays, at 5 PM you will be able to book bikes for Tuesday – Monday of the upcoming week.

– Temperature Checks: Each team member will have their temperature checked prior to the start of their class/shift. Should temperatures be heightened we will practice our elevated temperature protocol. Where required to do so, we will also practice safe temperature checks for our riders.

We have gone to great lengths and research to create the best practices to ensure our team and riders continue to experience the best Zenergy has to offer. While we are anxiously awaiting to see you again, we request that if you have been feeling ill, you do not come to the studio until you are fever and symptom-free.

I know that much of this may be overwhelming but I’m confident that if we work together as a community, we find our new “norm”. We’re always here to ensure you get the best experience and can’t wait to hopefully see you back on a bike and mat soon. Whether that be through ZenergyLIVE or in-studio, we thank you for your continued commitment to creating the best version of yourself.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 4TH – UPDATE

To our Community,
At Zenergy, the health and safety of our riders and staff is our top priority. We want to inform you that we are paying extra close attention to the CDC, tracking updates on the spread of the coronavirus.

To hopefully put your mind at ease, we want to let you know that we are taking proactive, preventative measures to protect against exposure to the virus within and around our studios. Our regular health and hygiene practices provide the best defense against the spread of most contagious illnesses.

In addition to our daily cleaning, we have added extra preventative steps through our leadership and Front Desk teams to ensure an even safer and cleaner environment.

As a reminder, the CDC recommends washing your hands frequently and avoiding unnecessary contact with those who are coughing or sneezing. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and we’ll catch you on the bike when you’re feeling better!

Thank you for helping keep our community healthy. I look forward to seeing you on a bike soon!

With Kindness,
